The Ideal Week
What does an ideal week look like for you? For me, it would be work ๐ (Nah.. just joking!). But in all seriousness, my ideal week would be time to...
๐น Learn something new.. and consistently
๐น Watch TV, be a couch potato, be lazy with Milo
๐น Do some sketches, read and have some fun along the way
In reality, work takes up majority of the time. If you donโt schedule in the important things to you, work and other things will take up all that time. I came across this method of planning where you plan out how the week will look like.
If you have heard of time blocking, when this is it. Instead of just time blocking the next few days, you plan it for a whole week. Things may change, like how you have time blocked a day, itโs worth going with the flow - at least you know whatโs coming up next.
You might feel that it's quite restrictive. I thought so too.. but once I gave it a go, it did help me NOT to think of what I need to do next, or what to do with my 'free' time. Sure, things will change and move around, but you have the core things you want in the calendar.
Tips to set it up and why it works for me below ๐
Give it a go.. never try, never know ๐
If it doesn't work for you, it's ok... at least you gave it a try.
p/s: This is my second time using this. Ditched it after 2 months last year and realised my mistake - I was using a physical weekly planner. This time, it's Google Calendar with specific time slots, set recurring events and easy enough to make changes.
Not everything has to work the first time ๐
