Procrastinators Unite... tomorrow!
I am a serial procrastinator, that's the truth. If I can delay things I don't want to do, I will. And of course, at the last minute, there will be a bit of song and dance of regret.
After all these years, I'm not going to lie, I'm still trying to manage my procrastination. Good news is, I don't have to do the ONE thing I procrastinate the most in my career (dm me if you're curious to know what it is).
Procrastination: It's just too hard/mundane for little or no reward (for me)
3 things that help me minimise this:
1. It's all about the reward. How can I pair it with something I have to do.
👍 Listen to a very VERY good trance playlist while working on you-know-what
2. Making task more achievable by breaking it down to smaller tasks or shorter time frame
👍 Instead of aiming to do a 1 hour yoga practice after 2.5 years of hiatus, I started off with once a week, 15 mins. 7 weeks in, and I'm practicing 4x a week 30 mins each session
3. Swallow the (d*mn) frog
👍 Get you-know-what done first, as you start your day. Get it out of the way and you can enjoy the achievement of it throughout the rest of the day
👍 I normally treat myself after this 😅
What is your frog or you-know-what?
